That's My Answer - July 31

Do you eat quiche? What is your favourite kind? Do you make it or buy it from the deli/supermarket?
I do not eat quiche. I have never even tried quiche!

Any last words for July?
Thanks for a wonderful month all around! Elayne got a promotion at work, Sage enjoyed the fireworks, and it looks like I'm going to win the Day-to-Day Pick'em in the Fantasy Group I'm in.

Do you frequent your local library?
We take Sage to the library at least once a month. They have countless programs for children, and we take him when they sound interesting.

What kind of juice do you drink at breakfast time? And… this is going to split the women from the girls/men from the boys … is your juice with bits or smooth?

If I drink juice, it's either apple or grape. There are no bits in it, though.

Pink or blue? Pink
Oranges or grapefruit? Oranges
Rock or country? Either
Flats or heels? Ummm... flats
Late night or early morning?
Definitely late night. I've always been a night owl.

What have you just finished reading? And what are you about to start?
The last book I read was the Official Rules for High School Softball. Before that, it was "The Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut. I'm currently reading "The French Lieutenant's Woman" by John Fowles.

Booking Through Thursday

What’s the funniest book you’ve read recently?

"The Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut. I had read the book while in High School, but forgot the title of the book. After a quick question to the literary minds at Library Thing, I was able to get the book. I believe I laughed harder this time around.

Thursdays

Most Thursday evenings, I am home alone. Elayne has handbell practice and her weekly Hebrew class, and Sage goes to see Papa. It may sound bad, but I enjoy Thursday evenings. While I love Sage and Elayne to death, I also enjoy being alone. It gives me a chance to do things that I don't have time to do with both around, namely webpage work.

This isn't taking away from the fact that I also enjoy the Thursday evenings that are different. Every once in a while, both stay home or I watch Sage for the evening if Papa isn't available. Those times are just as exciting, but in a different way.

Today, I had to go to a meeting at work. Every quarter, the company has meeting where they update the employees on the business, upcoming marketing campaigns, and give away money. I've never won at any company, and today was no different. However, a co-worker won an MLB All-Star glass set. Overall, the meeting was the same as all the others -- the business is great and marketing is better than ever. Afterwards, several people from the department went to a local bar for a few drinks. I've always enjoyed these outings as it gives us a chance to talk without work. And, as long as certain people don't go, work is very seldom mentioned, which is also very nice.

Now I'm home. I've got some website work to do, but I'm not in the mood. It's not hard work, just not what I want to do.

Personal Blogs

To keep things separated, I have three separate blogs on Blogger:
  1. Andrew's Blog - The one you're reading now. This will deal with life, work, and family, as well as other various, non-specific topics.
  2. Andrew's Umpire Blog - Stories of my umpiring baseball and softball. I'll post stories about each game I umpire -- even the ones that are canceled.
  3. Andrew's Geocaching Blog - Stories of my geocaching hobby. This one is done the least of the three, as the time devoted to it only comes when all others are clear.
I don't expect to update often, but will when needed.

Forget It

OK. The 31 days thing is a waste. It's for people trying to make money doing this -- definitely not my idea.

I'll just have to write on my own.

Let Get This Started

I'm going to start this thing.

To help, I've signed up for a daily task titled 31 Days to Building a Better Blog. My goal is to complete it, which will hopefully help me write on this more.

If you'd like to join and complete the class with me, feel free. The link I've given above apparently puts us "together" somehow.

Wish me luck!
